Mystery Composer

Anyone care to identify this work and/or its composer? (No, silly, it's not a mystery to ME.)

I've seen it before - is it Eliott Carter? I believe it's a canonic tribute to another composer (is it Stravinsky?) on either a significant anniversary or his death.

That is exactly right - it's a three-part canon, playable by instruments in C or Bb, written on the death of Stravinsky.

I was going to guess Stravinsky himself--the third movement of the Septet (which I've played--a good piece) is a (very strict) fugue with a subject not unlike this one, though quicker.

Maybe Carter stole the theme from Stravinsky!
