Merola Program, 2015

Merola himself


San Francisco Opera's Merola program announced its 2015 participants and schedule today.

They'll have several concerts, including the always-fun grand finale, and they're presenting Donizetti's Don Pasquale and a double bill of The Medium (Menotti) and Gianni Schicchi (Puccini). should be fun!

Merola Opera Program: The Medium (by Gian Carlo Menotti) and Gianni Schicchi (by Giacomo Puccini)
Double bill: Two one-hour operas, sung in English and Italian, respectively, with English supertitles. In The Medium, a séance goes terribly awry when a pseudo-seer and a mute boy get involved. The one-act comic opera Gianni Schicchi explores the grimly humorous and divisive greed that emerges on the death of a relative.
