Intermezzo I run hot and cold with- sometimes there are posts of keen interest, and other times much of it seems like filler just to have something posted for the day, which annoys me- good grief I am becoming a cranky prick :)John Marcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17616296400880495672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8957911.post-55509886454689323762013-08-12T10:28:58.058-07:002013-08-12T10:28:58.058-07:00Seattle, you mean? I am at a point where I think I have nothing of interest to say, and posting what others say that either cracks me up or annoys me is (yawn) uncreative and boring, I'm sure.

Only time will tell.

Meanwhile ... to the Ring! :-)oboeinsight.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11737564805242417693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8957911.post-37420200974073119052013-08-12T09:47:39.466-07:002013-08-12T09:47:39.466-07:00I need to link over to Alex's posting; this mi...I need to link over to Alex's posting; this might be a good place to do it.

I have a link here to a site that lists hundreds of classical music bloggers - I wish I had time to check out more. Do you read Likely Impossibilities? Not exactly new, but Zerbinetta is highly opinionated, knows more about opera and operetta than just about anyone, and is a great writer.

I stumbled across a really good London opera blogger recently, need to dig up and start reading regularly. Also, do you read Where's Runnicles? and Intermezzo?Lisa Hirschhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14014924958428072675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8957911.post-50012939765365224892013-08-12T09:28:35.507-07:002013-08-12T09:28:35.507-07:00I've been very interested in this ongoing conv...I've been very interested in this ongoing conversation you've been having and was pleased to see Alex Ross acknowledge it this week. The traffic on my blog decreased substantially over the last year and a half- a decline which closely reflects, directly mirrors in fact, a decrease in the number of posts, which in turn is related to the decrease and then almost complete omission of the "characters" who appeared within the posts, which is related to my giving up booze. An interesting chain reaction to be sure, and one I grapple with how to resolve, or even if it needs any resolution at all.

I do know the landscape has noticeably shifted in the past couple of years- once prodigous bloggers have gone virtually silent, others have scaled back considerably, and some have become so repetitive they are almost unreadable. What's filling the void are sites with largely generic and usually boring content- Seen and Heard, Bachtrack are a couple of examples whose writers seem to have left any personality they might have had somewhere outside the hall.

If there are some new voices out there I should be aware of, please feel free to let me know about them.John Marcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17616296400880495672noreply@blogger.com
