Elliott Carter on Charlie Rose?!
Just hours in advance of his 100th birthday, Elliott Carter appears on Charlie Rose tonight, along with James Levine and Daniel Barenboim, in what must be some kind of first. Or maybe two kinds of firsts.
The poor man! I can't imagine what it must be like to be 100 years old and have Charlie Rose's steel-beam eyebrows in your face. He never lets anyone finish a sentence. Let's hope James and Daniel can run interference.
I just found out I can't watch it anyway, since my local PBS station is having its fundraiser. Tongiht I can, if I want, listen to Dr. Amen tell me to change my brain and change my life. Or I could listen to Wayne Dyer tell me to change my thoughts and change my life. Or I could grow my money with Jonathan Pond.
I have to wait until it's on line. I worked until 6:30 last night, picked up Donna and my mom at the airport (they had been to Florida visiting Donna's parents), dropped my mother at her place, picked up our dog in North Berkeley, went home, and fell asleep around 10.

ReplyDeleteYeah.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the show didn't also recruit the Pacifica for a little demonstration. That would shut Rose up.
And tomorrow he's having Thomas Friedman. From the sublime to the ridiculous.

ReplyDeleteThose seem to be my only options.
Later, there will be Celtic Women.
