Possibly-Familiar Superrnumeraries in DC's Ariadne

Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Antonin Scalia, that is, will once again be supers in Washington National Opera's production of Ariadne auf Naxos, or so I hear. Wish I could join them!

  1. What a fantastic idea! Perhaps other opera companies should take up the idea and employ local celebrities as extras in one production a season. I wouldn't mind watching Tom Hanks or Gustavo Dudamel act in the LA Opera's upcoming Ring Cycle, haha

  2. Why not? It's common to have random celebrities turn up during Orlovsky's party in Fledermaus!

  3. Why don't we encourage Scalia to retire ASAP from judging and go into permanent supernumary work?
