  1. I would suggest giving up on work, at least for that week. And buying a pair of wings.

  2. Karita and the BSO are a block apart. Perhaps I can skip the Roman Carnival Overture and catch the first five minutes of whatever she sings.

For Magnifcat & Cal Bach, I can choose the date I attend. On Dec. 4, the Takacs and Juilliard are in the afternoon, with the Brentano in the evening.

How many string quartets CAN I see in one weekend??

  3. The first weekend of December is always extraordinarily bad: a number of the best choruses put their winter performances there. This year, the BSO's visit greatly complicates the week (I am scheduled to review both performances). I have not even put Philharmonia Baroque (Dec. 2-6) and New Century Chamber Orchestra (Dec. 13-18) in the posting. Oh, and my company holiday party (Dec. 2), meaning I have to choose between the party and Cal Bach if I want to see the Flicka Gala and the Takacs.

  4. The question remains: can I attend seven performances between December 1 and 10, write two reviews, work, and not come down with walking pneumonia?

  5. I will start the immune system support right now!

Also, I might need your help. Donna is out of town 12/2 to 12/8. Want to come out for a visit? :)

  6. Oh Lisa..

Here let me help. There are only two of these shows you really need to see - Mattila and the Salonen program.

    You're very welcome. Anytime.
