One Can Hope
Alex Ross discusses some tantalizing sketches that might be the remains of the Sibelius Eighth. Be sure to read the story he links to and of course listen to the run-through of just a minute or two of the sketches.
wow wow wow. It certainly sounds like Sibelius, just about every bit of it, a wintry air that goes beyond even the Fourth and the Sixth. If this is indeed it and representative of the whole, it would have puzzled a lot of listeners just as the Fourth did.

ReplyDeleteI would expect Sibelius sketches to sound like Sibelius. :) Perhaps one day we'll know whether it's the 8th or not.
