A Trip to Texas?
If only these two productions, 195 miles apart in space, weren't also months apart in time:
I suppose going to Texas twice in five months isn't practical. . . .
ReplyDeleteLooking at the Dallas Opera site, they're doing Salome with Deborah Voigt as Salome in November. Um, no.
ReplyDeleteThey're also doing a double bill of La Wally and a new opera by Joby Talbot about Mt. Everest in February. I liked Talbot's score for the ballet Alice's Adventures in Wonderland that I saw in OC last year, but La Wally lasts a little over 2 hours, why the double bill?
More possible opera/ballet trips, this one in July 2015:
Death in Venice (Garsington) > Three Stravinsky ballets: Firebird, Soldier's Tale & Chant du Rossignol (Stuttgart) > Der Ferne Klang (Mannheim) > Martinu's Julietta (Frankfurt) > Konigskinder (Frankfurt). *sigh* Anyone have a spare $3000 or so lying around? :-)
Patrick - no.
ReplyDeleteHenry - my 2015 music travel plan is Bayreuth.
The only thing I can find out about Bayreuth 2015 is a new Tristan with Thielemann conducting. Can't remember, do you like Parsifal?
ReplyDeleteYes, I do. Also, Tristan with Thielemann conducting sounds like a winner to me.
