North Star Vocal Artists: Contemporary Choral Music in the North Bay (& SF)

Here's a program you won't want to miss if you can possibly get there.

The North Star Vocal Artists are a new chamber chorus founded by Sanford Dole, whose work with the Sanford Dole Ensemble and several other choruses you might be familiar with. They've got their first series of concerts coming up.

The program includes Frank Martin's Mass for Double Chorus and works by British composers, Paul Mealor, Will Todd and Roxanna Panufnik, as well as  Giedrius Svilainis (Lithuania), Ola Gjeilo (Norway), and Americans Stephen Paulus, Donald Skirvin and Sanford Dole. That is, to say the least, quite in interesting and challenging lineup.

The program will be performed three times:

  • February 20, at 8:00pm, Saint Gregory of Nyssa Church, 500 DeHaro Street, San Francisco
  • Saturday, February 21, at 8pm, Petaluma Woman’s Club, 518 B Street, Petaluma
  • Sunday, February 22, at 4:00pm, Paul Mahder Gallery, 222 Healdsburg Avenue, Healdsburg
