Sure is, as I've mentioned before, my annual scheduling spreadsheet is filled with "Oooohhh, if only that opera or concert was happening three days earlier!" types of things.
Woo hoo! With Brandon Jovanovich as Aenas, I am gonna do everything I can to make it there too.
Do you know any more about the production? Last I heard they were trying to get the McVicar one we just did but are still negotiating price and availability.
I know nothing about what production Chicago will be using. I presume the McVicar is boxed up and either in storage or on its way to Vienna - I wonder how opera companies negotiate storage costs for these huge co-productions. (The 32-ton set qualifies as huge, I believe.) But I don't know when, exactly, Vienna is going to produce it, so maybe there is time for a side trip to Chicago.
Oh, meant to say, maybe some kind of group purchase can be arranged if there are enough local folks who want to go to Chicago. I can think of a half-dozen, I believe. Maybe the Wagner Society could do something along those lines, or maybe I can call and say "So I have ten people who want to see Troyens on this date - can we get some kind of group discount?" I could front the money, if necessary.

My dream of traveling to see different productions of Troyens will be getting underway much earlier than I anticipated.
