Prof. Mar Hicks is a historian "doing research on the history of computing, labor, technology, and queer science and technology studies," (to quote from Prof. Hicks's web site). Prof. Hicks is, among other things, the author of Programmed Inequality: How Britain Discarded Women Technologists and Lost Its Edge in Computing.
Prof. Hicks is in the process of developing some courses to be offered on line for people who aren't students at the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago. I expect that these will be exceptionally interesting!
