MTT is in residence at SFS last week and this week. I reviewed last week's program (Stravinsky, Elfman, Tchaikovsky) and so did Joshua Kosman:
- Joshua Kosman, SF Chronicle
- Lisa Hirsch, SFCV
We're on the same page about the Elfman: there's a lot of wandering around and no structure to speak of in the composer's new cello concerto. The Chron review is particularly eloquent and gets into more detail about the Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky than I do, particularly in terms of the structure of those works.
