No - my family's from Hungary and Rumania. Say more about yours?
My connection is that I rented an apartment in Spitalfields for two weeks last May, on my last trip to London, about six blocks from there. I took many many photos in the neighborhood. it is a fascinating area historically. I wish I'd taken the Jewish East End walking tour while I was there, but I got a bit of the flavor just walking around.
My London 2014 photos are here, but I should mention that there are about 900 or so, broken up into Flickr albums of varying size.
I've got London Friday Photos queued up until July some time.
My mother's family is from Poland, but they lived in the East End for about 10 years before returning to their hometown. On my last trip to London (2 months before yours) I stayed in Shoreditch and walked all over their neighborhood, looking for the places they lived, including present-day Princelet Street.
I stayed on Widegate St., near Bishopsgate, after considering a number of possible rentals in Spitalfields, Whitechapel, and Shoreditch. (It gives me great pleasure just to write those place names.)
Princelet Street is beautiful, and, alas, like so much, has gone from being run down and inexpensive to being trendy and pricey.

My great-grandparents' old neighborhood! Do you have family connections there, musical connections, or...?
