Those are not Dirndls, they are Trachten. Tracht is a very traditional native costume, Dirndl is a folk version. Tracht is generally hand-tailored by specialists, from traditional materials, and the the design reflects the region of origin of the wearer. Dirndls are mass-produced, and there are no traditions limiting the designs.
