I've been thinking about London as I've been reading Lara Maiklem's book Mudlark, and about the Globe and the Thames below it, and so this photo comes as a very welcome detailed reminder of that fantastic gate.
That book is right down my alley. Also, on a trip to London in 2004, a friend took me to the Tate Modern, where there was (and maybe still is) a marvelous exhibit of riverbank finds from in front of both the Tate Britain and Tate Modern.
I'm thinking about London a lot because I'm half-way through the seventh of the Rivers of London books.
I have a couple of thousand photos from here and there around London in both my Google Photos and Flickr accounts, by the way, from trips in 2014 and 2019. Those photos are public; happy to put up the links again if you're interested.
I'd like to digitize film photos from 1982, 1999, and 2004, but that will take me some time to get to.
