Follow-Ups

About Suzuki: see the comment from Daniel Wolf on my original posting and see this article about Mark O'Connor's remarks about Suzuki. See Elaine Fine's comments on her blog. I should have kept my damn mouth shut, given the reasonable doubts about O'Connor and his motives.

About the Chetham's and RNCM sex abuse scandals: Nicholas Smith sentenced to prison, Duncan McTier admits abuse. Lots more details about RNCM at The Guardian.

So I see from here that I was right, in commenting on your original postm, to guess that Suzuki's failed audition at the Hochschule had nothing to do with his being Klinger's private pupil.

On the other hand, some of the counter stuff is also flaky. Like this one, which implies O'Connor is some kind of hypocrite for associating his name with Suzuki while calling him a liar. Yet the quote evinced as evidence for this association calls O'Connor's method an "alternative to the Suzuki method." Doesn't the blogger know what "alternative" means?
