Playing Davidovsky's music and working with him is one of the true highlights of my career as a flutist. While I did learn and perform his early Synchronism for flute (the first in this celebrated series), my real joy came from learning, rehearsing, performing, and recording his acoustic chamber music, which is just incredibly accomplished -- powerful, often beautiful, and truly original. A true master, an important teacher of composers, and also a mensch.
