- U. S. Said to Allow Drilling Without Needed Permits, including the Deepwater Horizon well. This appears to have taken place under the Bush administration, where science was downplayed and playing footsie with petroleum producers was encouraged. Obama administration officials say they're working to change this.

The last item - the CIA assassination - is exhibit A in how the terrorists are winning. Can the destruction of an office building in New York force us to abandon our Constitutional rights? No. But the reaction of a frightened US government can - and now has.
How much longer before unmanned drones are circling above our cities ready to take out US citizens who are deemed 'terrorists' by some anonymous agency?
Truly scary.
