Luminous Refractions: SF Contemporary Music Players 2026-27 Season

The SF Contemporary Music Players have an outstanding season of new / recent / important modern music coming up. Here it is, in brief:

LUMINOUS REFRACTIONS

 

·       “Bay Bridges” (Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 7:30 PM - Brava Theater) - Music by Matthew Evan Taylor*, Shuying Li*, Inés Thiebaut*, Michael Gilbertson*, and Darius Milhaud.

 

·       “Glassworks” (Sunday, February 7, 2027 at 4:00 PM – Taube Atrium Theater) – Music by Philp Glass, Cassandra Miller, Mason Bates*, and David Lang.

 

·       “Foundry” (Saturday, April 10, 2027 at 7:30 PM - Taube Atrium Theater) - Music by Mark Gustavson, Laurie San Martin*, Sofia Ouyang, and Pamela Z* (commission/world premiere).

 

·       “Alchemy” (Sunday, May 2, 2027 at 4:00 PM - Brava Theater) – Music by Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez, Juri Seo, Aaron Jay Kernis, and Asha Srinivasan.

Each concert is preceded by a talk by Artistic Director / Conductor Eric Dudley.

The organization will also have a bit of....rebranding going on; while the formal name will remain San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, they'll use sfCONTEMPORARY as their identity.
