Well, I've never Thais. Maybe something interesting will be on at LAPO or LACMA or LBO when it's playing.

Wow, I'm actually going to go to some operas in Los Angeles in 2013/14!
The Billy Budd cast looks good and it's a great production; I love Thais and will grab the chance to see it in the theater and I can't pass up the chance to experience Einstein live. I hope they have a "you can get up, get a beer and come back" policy in place for it.
Thanks for the heads up.
Hahaha, maybe if I clicked through to the proper page....yes, Einstein is done without the traditional intermissions, come and go quietly.
Haha, yeah. I think I might suggest two short breaks, because I missed one of the scenes almost entirely and somewhat regret it.
This is the fourth time I'm trying to send a message. Testing.
Ok. So I'm surprised that both of you are excited to see Thais. When I saw it as a Met HD several years ago, I had trouble staying awake after the first act. The very end, I liked, too. But e rest was pretty without much interest, IMO. What's the appeal of this opera to you two?
Mostly that I've never seen it. I've never heard the whole opera, either.
Ok. That makes sense. I'm a sucker for operas I've never seen (see my interest in The Passenger at HGO, and the upcoming Dolores Claiborne here).
Exactly. I have a little list.
Enviable list! (Great idea, though. It's time for me to start mine. Thanks.)
Patrick Vaz's is even better (Reverberate Hills). I think his is public....
