Offer Made

It's been reported in a couple of Chicago papers, and SFS has confirmed to me, that an offer for the open principal oboe seat at San Francisco Symphony has been made to Eugene Izotov, currently filling the same position at the Chicago Symphony and formerly of SFS.

Patner is a twit. He totally screwed over Dufour's reputation by publishing his comments when the flutist left the LA Phil. I find it rather amusing that he published that "Dufour will play with Chicago at least for the 2014-2015 season, the CSO spokeswoman said. The musician himself could not be reached for comment." . . . . like Dufour is going to confide in him ever again.

So I take a certain amount of glee that he is proven dead wrong. According to another writer from his own paper, not only is Dufour leaving in November of this year, he is resigning his CSO post instead of just taking leave from it.

Anyways . . . since he wrote that Izotov is “not going anywhere,” perhaps that means he'll definitely take the SFS job.

Oh, hahahaha. I know Andrew on line, where he does not seem like a Twit, but sheesh.

Looks like I was right. Interesting that there has not yet been any article about it in the Sun-Times in general or by Patner specifically. . . . Congrats to the SFS and its fans for getting a truly world-class player.
