Absolutely. I continue to be shocked about the level of thinking used by those opposed to health care reform in the US. The great irony is, of course, that sinking health care costs and taking away the ability of private entities to make life-or-death decisions (the rationing that really is in effect today) are profoundly conservative issues.

That said, I believe that Obama made a major strategic mistake by not insisting, from the very beginning, that this was no longer business as usual and many actors in the health care sector would have to get by with far less.
